 ABOUT ME:

I went into mechanical engineering thinking I will be in a crisp, white design studio with sketches of concept cars and Sundays filled with track day events, testing out the latest roaring, secret performance model. 30 minutes into my first ever fluid mechanics, I had a headache from all the Greek symbols and assumptions. Boy, did Jeremy Clarkson and all those YouTube videos lie to me. After some academic fumbling and reconciling with the intimidating symbols, I was able to embrace the nature of engineering studies. Solving from first principles, working with multi-gender, -racial, -background, -disciplinary teams, navigating complex problems and embracing uncertainty. This

"Yeah, yeah, all good but why should I be on this website, Andile?". Well because I am kindly asking with puppy eyes haha. On a serious note, this website is a place where I share resources, tools, mental models, books, videos, concepts that helped me navigate not only a once rocky academic journey but also making money through small ventures to surf the seas of unstable family income and varsity life. I wrote a short eBook here, that helps more young people avoid the #facepalm worthy mistakes I have made when heading off to university.

So here you will find the blog posts I write about experiments I run with productivity, career and micro-entrepreneurship. I will share lessons I have learnt and applied from books, blogs, podcasts and more. You can also find audio versions of the blog posts through the podcast ,Push Start Podcast, where I share book summaries and talk with movers and shakers from different modern industries. They  share their best actionable practices for you to apply. We don't just chat up a storm, we bring you tools that you can use immediately after pressing stop. You can find some of the interview live streams on YouTube.

"Hey but didn't you say you are in engineering?" Yes I am, that's the main focus and passion as previously mentioned. Here you can find my resume that gives and overview of my training, skills and experience. On the site I also share things I have found interesting or I am contributing to, outside of professional work that help more interested youth get involved in STEM (Science Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)
